Managing Your Profile & Personas: Customizing Your AI Chat Identity

Your identity on YourCrush.AI consists of two distinct components: your primary Account Profile (your public display name and creator handle) and your User Personas (the custom roleplay identities you assume when chatting with characters).

Mastering user personas is the single most effective way to personalize your conversations without having to re-explain who you are in every scene.

Updating Your Primary Profile

  1. Open the main navigation and click Settings > Profile.
  2. Profile Picture: Upload a PNG, JPG, or WebP avatar (up to 5MB).
  3. Display Name & Handle: Choose your public creator name and unique @handle.
  4. About Me: Write a brief bio showcasing your creative interests or bot portfolio.

Building Custom User Personas

Personas let you step into different shoes for different stories. For example, you might want to be a valiant knight in a medieval tavern, a modern university student in a slice-of-life romance, or a quiet space explorer in a sci-fi setting.

Recommended Persona Template

To get the best results from our neural models, format your persona description using concise, structured bullet points:

Name: Daniel Vance
Pronouns: He/Him
Age: 25
Appearance: Tall, dark messy hair, wears a leather jacket and silver ring.
Personality: Quiet, sarcastic sense of humor, deeply loyal, hesitant to open up.
Backstory: Childhood friend of Elena who recently returned to town after five years away.

Switching Personas Mid-Chat

When inside any active chat room, you can click your avatar icon in the bottom input bar to select from your saved personas. The AI immediately adopts awareness of your updated persona on the subsequent turn. For more about narrative continuity, see our guide on AI Memory & Context Length.
